A town set between two hills, that chose to keep its calm. Only a few minutes from the villas.

The streets are narrow, the bay windows close enough to touch. More than a hundred Ottoman houses still stand, and life continues inside them. This is not a museum, it is a living town. Leave your car at the entrance to the bazaar and start walking.

Taraklı takes its name from the combs once carved from boxwood. In the same bazaar, wooden spoons are still carved and Taraklı cloth is woven on the looms. A glass of tea in the shade of the 1517 Yunus Paşa Mosque can easily become the day's longest pause.

The forest begins where the town ends. This stretch of the historic Silk Road links the mansions of Göynük and the highlands of Karagöl and Sultanpınar by roads of about half an hour.
